Thanks R4i-SDHC Team, this time we don’t need to order a new r4i sdhc for this new dsi version V1.4.2, Can R4i SDHC V1.4.1 products in perfect upgrades.
R4i SDHC DSi V1.4.2 update Guide:
1. First, reformatting the SD,go to www.r4i-sdhc.com to download the latest kernel 1.37b.
2.Unzip and copy the files(R4iMenu,moonshl2,moonmemo,r4.DAT) to the root of MicroSD card.
3. Go to www.r4i-sdhc.com to download the dsi(1.42) upgrade package of purple r4i-sdhc.
Unzip and copy the files(fwup142.nds ) to the root of MicroSD card.
4. Insert MicroSD card into r4i-sdhc card, insert r4i-sdhc card into nds\dsl\dsi\dsill\dsixl
5.Turn on console and press “A” button to run the upgrade file fwup142.nds. Note:When upgrading the r4i-sdhc card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out r4i- sdhc,otherwise it will damage the r4i-sdhc card.

i have followed the steps but when i press a to run upgrade file fwup142.nds nothing happens and i still have the ‘an error has occured’ message. all the files are on the root of the sd so what am i doing wrong? how do i force fwup142.nds to upgrade?

this update should use the console under vesion v1.4.2.

the console is v1.4.2e but I cant get it to upgrade the kernel by pressing the a button. nothing happens, pressing a selects the card and it gives me the error message. what am i doing wrong?

I have the same problem. My current software version of the DSi is Ver 1.4.2E. Where do I run this file? If I press the Alex Rider thingy, I get exactly the same error message as before. Is there some way I can force the DSi to boot it?

If you dsi already V1.4.2, then you cann’t upgrade your r4i sdhc card.
because this card cann’t work on V1.4.2, so you will get error message.
Try find a console version under v1.4.2.

is there any hope of getting software to make it work with 1.4.2 (is anyone working on it) or is it now useless and should be thrown away? i thought that the software on the link was to upgrade the card for 1.4.2? I am confused now.
