Nintendo has just blocked flashards on the DSi yet again with the release of firmware update 1.4.1 today. However, it does not seem like all flashcards have been affected.
Nintendo’s system menu update page says the new firmware provides “behind-the-scenes improvements”, but as expected that is really just PR speak for “no more homebrew for you”. This is the first incremental update for the DSi in over a year, yet it is not believed there are any new features for the DSi outside of flashcards being blocked.
We will keep a list of confirmed flashcards.
For now, steer clear of the update if you want to keep using your flashcard!

Maybe you want a new software update for the dsi 1.4.1E on your site put me back on my dsi can play.

it sucks the day i came home from school i was told about an update[this one had no decline option] and it did not work anymore the r4i so im screwed playing all those games and the game data cant be transfered to the dsi. now im just looking at dsiware that i cant get because it’s not free

We didnt know about the problem with the v1.4.1E so we updated the DSi and we cant play anygames because we get an error messege “an error has accurred”. Please if you find fix post here (bow)

All R4i Card not work on DSi V1.41U,1.41E,1.41J, except Hyper R4i, But Hyper R4i not very good, So best not upgrade the version.

R4ids.cn’s New R4i Gold has broken DSi V1.4.1U, But no new firmware updated, so may be still need wait some days.

I no longer regret not selling my ds lite. They didn’t block action replay dsi, but ar is pretty useless because it doesn’t support commercial roms. It’s funny how nintendo is trying to fight something that will always win. Why doesn’t nintendo make a really good flashcart and sell it?

There’s a patch available on http://www.R4ids.cn.
Version number 1.41. Install it onto your TF card, boot the card in a non v1.4.1 DSI and run the application after that you can use the card again.

They will. They are in full swing. In fact they have already a new generation ready to support the new firmware. But there will shortly get an update to the earlier generation.

I Have the dsi which stupidly i updated to use the shop, and now have the 1.4.1e update, i am currently running the R4i v1.4 revolution card which has given up the goat, i have tried the update for V1.4.1 which doesnt work, does anyone know when the standard v1.4 card is due for a firmware update?

There is NO info anywhere saying whether the R4i DSiXL 3D v1.45 card works with the 1.4.1u patch!! I’m getting VERY annoyed! Their website saying NOTHING!
Can someone PLEASE tell me anything!? I tried the gold firmware with update (because the http://www.r4idsxl.com/indexe.asp site says go check the gold site for some reason at one point) and that didn’t work either.

My dad bought me a R4i Green 1.6 and i updated my dsi xl (midnight blue) now its’ 1.4.1U and I need help when i press on the gamecard slot place it says an error has occured and im pretty sure you guys know the rest hold the power button… troubleshooting. Hi I have just recieved a R4i Gold card ver 2.0 from the r4ids.com website however even after previously asking will this card work fine on a dsi with the system update 1.4.1e and being told yes, i can not get the dsi to work it flags an error telling me an error has occured to press and hold the power buttton to reset. 2) I have the “R4i sdhc 3″ card
Q: Could someone please point me in the right direction of the correct firmware I need to be able to run homebrew games off my R4i card.
As soon as I try to access the R4 card for the NDSi it gives me a black screen with a “error has occured”.

While I am glad im obviously not the only idiot to upgrade dsi firmware by accident… I am disappointed that this (NDSI V1.4.1U) began in September 2010 and 3 months later it hasn’t really been fixed.
I have V1.4.1U on my dsi,

I have cut everything from the 8gb micro SDHC, then downloaded V1.29b to it and replaced a single game – I know no-one else with dsi, but if I find one with 1.3 firmware, what must I then do (which folders must I open, do I need to be online? or just click on the game)for r4i card to work again with my console?
Otherwise, will the 1.29b patch work if I add games to the micro sdhc, as long as I get an r4i card with V1.4.1 on it?
I even tried to take the back off looking for a hard reset button, I admit I couldn’t get all the screws out but taking the battery out did nothing either!
can someone please point me in the right direction?!?

I really think this update is overdue, I got the R4i v1.4 for my christmas present (late christmas) and Put it in my dsi to get a please turn of message. My grandpa tested it before the update so I was unknown as to what had happend until now, PLEASE bring out the update soon or i will pull my hair out waiting!!!

1) I have the NDSi with the 1.4.1e firmware on it.
2) I have tried to use an R4 Renovation R4i v2.10T SDHC v2.10T card
As soon as I try to access the R4 card for the NDSi it gives me a black screen with a “error has occured”.
Now i want to take another card. Someone can confirm if the AceKard 2i per Nintendo DSL / DSi / DSi XL (Compatibile con v1.41)works fine? or can suggest some other card?

There is a solution here in CHina with this problem since i also got this NDSi with a 1.4.1j version…They do it by modding something idk inside the dsi machine…But i never tried it yet since i’m so busy during that time when i was in GZ …After I fix this mess,maybe i’ll post something that might help you all….buying a new card won’t help i guess,only modification with the machine itself…….
